ABC's

Here's Kaylee saying her ABC's. Not bad for 21 months old!

Oh - she wanted her hair in a top knot again this afternoon. Needed, in fact. She said to me, "Kaylee need top knot!" Hence, the top knot on the head.

Speedy Christmas

Here's a short clip of Kaylee opening and enjoying her baby doll stroller this morning. Don't blink, you might miss something!

That's pretty much her normal, everyday speed. ;) Unknowingly, the video setting on our camera had switched to time lapse, so this is what we got...oops. Well, you get the idea!

Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star

When Kaylee wants us to sing "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" she says, "twinkle, twinkle." Tonight we were at a Christmas party with her and she wanted the song. I asked her if she could sing it, and she sang the whole thing! (Well, the whole thing being the most well-known verse.) Here's a video of it from this morning. She sort of skimmed over "like a diamond in the sky" here, but you get the idea. :)

Jesus Loves Kaylee

More singing. First our duet, then Kaylee's solo. After each version she runs to the camera to watch the video of herself; she says "more watch" at the end of the first song.

Sunshine

Think I sing this song to Kaylee much?? :) She knows the entire thing and sings each line after I finish the one before!

Oh, wow!

Kaylee is in awe of our Christmas tree/ornaments. I heard her the other day exclaiming over each one - "Oh, wow! Teddy bear! Oh, wow! Little house! Oh, wow! Snoopy! Oh, wow! Oh, wow!" etc... I managed to get a little of it on video. Merry Christmas!

Video blog

In looking into possibly printing out Kaylee's blog as a book, I realized that the posts about/with videos would - obviously - not work in printed format. So I decided to create a separate blog for videos and will post those here. I'm migrating all the older video posts to this site (I'll date them as they were, so the timestamps will be correct). There's a link to this site on Kaylee's blog, so you'll be able to click through from there to here (and go back via the link to the right here).

Thanks for watching!

Merry (early) Christmas!

I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet, but we practiced and practiced our routine and couldn't wait until December to share. Enjoy and Merry Early Christmas!

Enena teses

Kaylee has asked to see "Enena teses" (Elena dancing) every day for the past week, ever since the video of her cousin at a baby disco was posted on Elena's blog. See for yourself... (In between asking to see Elena, Kaylee thinks I'm just taking a photo and poses saying "cheese." :) )

Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday we took Kaylee to The Kinsey Family Farm. She had a great time with everything - the pumpkins, wagons (pulling and riding), hayride and especially feeding the catfish! The pond water was super muddy from all the recent rain, so we couldn't see the fish until they got to the surface to eat the food pellets. They were huge - I'd say over a foot long, and definitely well-fed. :) Here are a few videos cut & spliced into one.

Counting

When Kaylee gets upset about having to wait for something I tell her to "be patient and count to ten," then I count to 10 out loud (if whatever she's waiting on takes longer than a 10 count, I'll count higher, or just count to 10 again). Yesterday she was doing something and I just told her to be patient, but didn't say to count, and I heard her say (her version of) "6, 7, 8, 9, 10" - !! So I asked her to count to ten, starting her off with the one and she did it without any help, though she did miss the 5. The video is from today (she'll say it without me saying anything, too, but wouldn't while I had the camera going, of course). She still skips 5, but will say it when reminded, then go back to the 6.

She calls herself "Deedee" - so at the end when you hear that, it's her meaning she wants to see the video of herself on the camera (that's why she's walking around to see it).

Giving Thanks

Here's Kaylee at dinner tonight, saying the blessing:

That's an Elmo tattoo on her arm. She has a Thomas the Train one on her other arm. We put them on Sunday afternoon and she's been pointing them out ever since: "tah-too! Ah-mo (Elmo) tah-too!" She got them at Ryker's birthday parties - the Thomas ones have been stuck in a drawer for the past year! She also got a pair of Sesame Street socks in her goody bag on Saturday. She saw them Monday morning and insisted on wearing them, then wore them all day, calling them Ryker socks. :-)

Our little fishie

Kaylee and I went to the pool again this morning. The weather and pool temp were perfect, but no one else showed up during the hour and a half we were there! I'm hoping any potential rain holds off until tonight so we can go again after naptime today.

Here's a short video I took with my phone (hence the low quality...). We're borrowing the little inner tube she's in from a neighbor and it is great!! The fabric covering the tube has a tank top attached, so the ring stays on even when she's not in the pool.

Spain photos

Photos from Jamie's and my recent trip to Barcelona...

There are 333 photos in the album; some are pretty much duplicates, but rather than sort through each and every one, I uploaded all.

Sticky Hair

Kaylee was eating her dinner (avocado and banana...a winning combo :) ) and I was eating an apple the other day. So of course she wanted it. I peeled and cored one for her and she loved taking bites...and rubbing it in her hair. By the way, she ate over 2/3 of the banana (all but a bad spot I broke off), 1/2 an avocado and a little less than 1/2 of the apple, plus her milk, Apparently she was hungry!

Happy Easter!

Kaylee could not get enough of the Easter Bunny, and kept running back over to see him. She got very upset when we picked her up to walk to Barnes & Noble. Once there, of course, she was happy to run around the kids' section at the bookstore and we read a couple books.

Crazy Driver!

I'm not sure I'm going to trust her with the car keys when the time comes...

Reading

As I've said before, Kaylee loves books!! She will sit for quite a while "reading" on her own. So cute. She was doing it for a couple minutes this morning before I got the camera, but continued for a little longer. (After this, she actually got one and brought it over to me and we read it -and another couple books- a few times.)

Funny Girl

Kaylee got a pink ball as a birthday gift and LOVES it. As you can see below...

Piggy, Puffs, Bbrrrr

Not only does Kaylee make her "evil baby" face when asked, but she can snort like a pig! Very cute, here you go...

Also, she's been saying "puffs" for a while now (little Gerber finger foods. She used to refer to them as "puh" - just the letter P sound, but now says "Puh-ssshh" or "Puh-fffsssshhh" depending on the time). Here's that...

Both of those videos are from earlier today.

The next video is from a week ago. I'd been making "car noises" when she'd play with her little car (from my cousin's 2 year old son's "Cars" birthday party!), but she never did it herself until one day recently, sort of out of the blue she picked up the car and started driving it around while she made that noise! She makes that little car drive around everywhere...leaving a trail of spit wherever it goes. :-)

Walking and Talking!

Kaylee's been saying "uh-oh" and "hi" for 2-3 weeks (though she's still stingy with the "hi"), but yesterday she walked up to the coffee table, looked at her "box of mice" (as we call it) and said "ice" - !!! She brought it to me and I asked her to say mice (as in, "say Mmmm-ice, can you say Mmmm-ice?") and she did! This morning she said it a few more times, but of course when I got the camera she didn't want to say it unless she was walking away. But I did get it on here a few times. So this video is pretty much the same thing...over and over...for nearly 4 minutes. Feel free to not watch it all. :-)

FYI: the "box of mice" was a gift from my Uncle Dan and Aunt Sharon - it's a little fabric box with finger-puppet mice (all attached, you stick your fingers in through the bottom). Kaylee could play with that thing for hours.

Uh-oh!

Yesterday Kaylee spent a good while tossing things on the floor, saying "uh-oh," picking them back up and repeating the cycle. This is a video of her in (and out) of her new ball pit saying "uh-oh" over and over. I was prompting her to say it for the video, but earlier she had been doing it on her own (and since, as well).

Walker, Baby Ranger

Yesterday, Kaylee could (would, more like it) only take up to 4 steps at a time. We tried again this afternoon and she walked across the room - time after time after time! Here are a couple videos of it spliced together...enjoy!!

Little Dancers

Kaylee (10 months) and Erin (18 months) - dancing the day away yesterday. I love how Erin says, "thank you" when she hands Kaylee the toy. She's so polite. :-)

Walking and Climbing

Kaylee loves her new walker, whether it's riding on it as a car or walking behind it. Thanks, Gramma and Grampa!! This is from a couple weeks ago - 1/7/09.

Here's the little monkey climbing up the stairs (as you can see, she gets distracted by the items on our table that are probably close enough for her to grab if we let her). This one's also from a while ago - 1/10/09.

Untitled

Kaylee's been doing this for a while now (probably at least a month), but I finally got it on camera. It's like she's clearing her throat with her mouth shut. Yes, she's loony, but she comes by it honestly.

Speed Racer

Kaylee got a a little walker that turns into a car for Christmas from Gramma and Grampa Parker. She's used it both ways; this video is from tonight. You can see she enjoys her little trips in the car!

Happy New Year!

Short video of Kaylee's tile floor (and sometimes hardwood floor) "crawl" - up on hands and feet with as little bodily surface area touching the floor as possible...must be cold. This was a couple nights ago before bathtime.
