We took Kaylee to the Cumming Greek Festival today and she had a great time dancing to the music! I love all her crazy dance moves. :)

Feeding Fish & Goats
A couple weekends ago I took Kaylee to the Kinsey Family Farm, where she picked out some pumpkins, took a hayride and fed some catfish and goats.

Passing the Time
When my brothers and I were little, my mom would sing "I've Been Working on the Railroad" (among other things) to us at bedtime. Kaylee apparently got tired of "Hush, Little Baby" (aka the mockingbird song) and "Railroad" was the first song I thought of to sing, so it's been our new nap/bedtime song the past few weeks. She catches on quick; here she is singing the song to her baby doll (she named it "Baby Jamie" sometime last year, just after she learned my and Jamie's names, and that stuck...much to Jamie's dismay).
Here are the lyrics, in case you don't know the song and want to decipher:
I've been workin' on the railroad,
All the live long day.
I've been workin' on the railroad,
Just to pass the time away.
Don't you hear the whistle blowing?
Rise up so early in the morn.
Don't you hear the captain shouting
"Dinah, blow your horn?"
Dinah, won't you blow,
Dinah, won't you blow,
Dinah, won't you blow your horn?
Dinah, won't you blow,
Dinah, won't you blow,
Dinah, won't you blow your horn?
Someone's in the kitchen with Dinah.
Someone's in the kitchen, I know.
Someone's in the kitchen with Dinah
Strumming on the old banjo.
(And singing)
Fee, fie, fiddle-e-i-o.
Fee, fie, fiddle-e-i-o-o-o-o.
Fee, fie, fiddle-e-i-o.
Strumming on the old banjo.

Memorial Day Swimming
Yesterday we spent the day swimming at my parents' pool. Here are a few clips of Kaylee swimming with just arm floats to help keep her up. She did very well with them!

Little Gymnast
(If you read the post on Kaylee's other blog, this is the same text, but with video instead of photos)
Kaylee's last gymnastics class was today, and there were a bunch of new activities for them to try/do. Kaylee did surprisingly well today! She managed to avoid the "high bar" the entire class, but there was plenty otherwise to keep her engaged, including a roller coaster ride! The instructor had the roller coaster base out, but kept the car hidden until the end. At the beginning of class when she was telling us about all the available activities, she said she'd bring out the car and the kids could do the coaster at the end so they didn't just line up and fight over that the whole time. Kaylee turned to me and said, "I probly do that," which made me laugh. She tells us all the time, "I probly like that," about things she wants to do/try, even if she's never done it before. She especially tells us that about going on the swings and any candy she sees. Well, she did get to ride it three times and would have gone plenty more if we'd let her!
There was a station with a spring board where the kids were supposed to jump off the board onto the mat, then walk across the mat and put their legs up on a barrel while their hands were on the mat (see 1st photo). I held Kaylee's hands as she did her first jump and thought I'd have to help her get her legs on the barrel, but she'd just watched another girl do it and she did that on her own. After that I didn't even have to help her do the jump - I think that was her favorite activity of the day (roller coaster aside), as she did it at least 5 times (that's a lot for that class).
There were 3 things they were told they could do on the ladybug chair - sit on it backwards and hold their knees up in a "tuck" with their arms, put one knee on and lift their other leg off the floor, and straddle it and lift both legs. Kaylee did all of the above; I got pictures of two, but
There was also a "cartwheel" station where the kids were supposed to put their hands on a long piece of equipment and jump their feet from one side to the other. After showing her, Kaylee did very well with that on her own, too. Maybe she did get something out of this class, after all! :)
That last bit is our neighbor Caroline whizzing down the roller coaster. Outstanding, Caroline!! :-)

Blessing
Kaylee's gotten better at saying the blessing.
Here is what we say (to help you translate):
God is great, God is good.
Let us thank Him for our food.
By His hands we are fed.
Thank you, God, for daily bread.
Amen.

Evolution of a Tantrum
This is what we go through, oh, 5-6...hundred...times/day. (Seems like it sometimes.) Also, this is a pretty tame tantrum compared to some! I think she wasn't at her worst because the camera was on and she kept saying, "cheese."
FYI: when she asks to watch "Oinky" she means an episode of Dora with a pig named Oinky in it, and then she asks to watch "Frosty the Snowman." Gotta love how quickly she turns it on and off...

Happy (belated) birthday, Kaylee!
So this video is a month old...better late than never! Here's Kaylee blowing out her candles at her birthday party. She has quite good aim!

Eyes Go Crazy!
Kaylee climbs up in our desk chairs and likes us to spin her around so she gets dizzy. Here's a bit of it...

Another present!
Kaylee got a surprise present last night in the mail, all the way from her cousin Elena (okay really Elena's Mommy Diedre ;) ) in California! It arrived just as we were about to sit down for dinner, so Jamie opened it up as soon as we were done, but I had to wipe down Kaylee before she could get at it. The present was in purple gift wrap and I told Kaylee it was from Elena, and she was itching to get at it for the entire 2 minutes (if that) it took to clean her up, saying, "Enena big purple present!" over and over. She finally got to tear into it and that she did! All the practice at Christmas has made her a pro and I think she was into the box within about 30 seconds - she had all the paper off before I could start the camera! Kaylee wanted to put it on right away, over her clothes. She was wearing a white turtleneck yesterday, and until it warms up, that's how she'll be wearing it! (Maybe not also with the brown pants, though...) Perfect size, too - good for now over the shirt and should be great all summer and into fall, too! Here's the video, edited a little for time... Thanks, California Caesars!! :)
While Kaylee's spinning, she says, "Gramma," because at Christmas she was wearing a dress with a big skirt and twirling around to show it off and my mom was twirling in her skirt, too, to show Kaylee. So now when she spins in a dress, she says, "Gramma."

Snow & Yucky Soup
On Thursday we went out in the snow for a little while before there was much on the ground (not that there was ever that much on the ground at all!).
A friend had brought over some soup for us just before we went out in the snow. When we got back inside I thought it would make a nice warm snack. I asked Kaylee if she wanted some "yummy soup" and she said no. So I asked her if she wanted "yucky soup" and she said yes. So here she is eating yucky soup - that she loved!
At the end of the video she calls Mimi (her stuffed lamb) on her phone (my old one). She and Mimi must have a special language because the sounds she makes is how she always "talks" to her on the phone. Weirdo.

Jumping Beans
Kaylee and I went to my grandparents' house on Wednesday and Kaylee and PawPaw spent quite a while jumping off the fireplace ledge.
