Andy & Ribs

Andy loves the little ribbon blankie I made for him - I put different sizes and textures of ribbons on it, but he always goes for the wide smooth white ribbons. He makes a funny noise as he rubs it on the palm of his hand - we can hear him making the noise over the baby monitor as he goes to sleep - it can go on a while. I tried to get him to do it here, and he did, but only for a second or two. But I think you get the idea...maybe. :) And, yes, he also likes to suck on his sleep sacks as he goes to sleep. Much to his dismay, we took away the sleep sacks yesterday. He's done fine, though, and only woke up crying once last night, but was calmed and back to sleep for the rest of the night within about 2 minutes.

Scary Witch

Kaylee has a "scary witch" voice that she does.  Usually she would just say, "helloooo," but when I tried to get her saying it to post a video, she kept acting super silly.  So here is one clip of her being "scary."  :)

Little Walking Andy!

Since a little before his birthday, Andy's been taking a few steps here and there. On 2/17 and 2/18 he would take 4-5 or so steps before falling forward into someone's arms or plopping down onto the floor. A few days later he walked 8-10 steps at a time, and once that day did about 20, but still was mostly just walking a few steps at a time here and there. Yesterday I took Andy, Kaylee and Erin to Catch Air and I guess Andy decided it was time to walk - maybe it's boring at home and he liked all the new things and bright colors at Catch Air? Who knows? Anyway, he walked for over 30 seconds (I know because the video I took is just over 30 seconds :) ) and did so again at home later that day. Something finally clicked! Though he still mostly crawls - it is still much faster!!

Waves

Andy started waving in mid- to late-September, but it wasn't very well defined until early October. These videos are from 10/13.

Laughter

Kaylee loves making Andy laugh. Usually it's when she hits one toy with another (as she does here). Hopefully you can get past the fact that baby Jesus is getting beaten by a huge cat and just enjoy the laughter. hah!

By the time I took this video, Andy had already laughed himself into having the hiccups. He also wasn't laughing quite as hard once he saw the camera...I really need to get some sort of hidden camera to use on that boy so he won't always clam up!

NO!

Andy seems to know how to say, "no!" - and he does so very emphatically!  He's been doing this at least a week now, but would never do it when I tried to record him before.  He still usually sees the camera and clams up!

Andy's Oatmeal Fingers

Andy's been eating oatmeal cereal for a week or two now, and he's getting better at it. He was starting to get better, then last week got an ear infection and it seemingly hurt him to swallow, so he didn't eat very well (and not very much at all) for a few days - not that he was eating that much anyway, but would only take a couple bites before he started screaming in pain. Anyway, since he started his medicine a week ago, he's feeling better and eating better again. Here's a video of him having lunch today. He currently has his 4 bottles and now one "meal" (about a tablespoon of oatmeal cereal with a little bit of his formula mixed in) around noon. He's gotten very enthusiastic about eating the past few days!
