Waves

Andy started waving in mid- to late-September, but it wasn't very well defined until early October. These videos are from 10/13.

Laughter

Kaylee loves making Andy laugh. Usually it's when she hits one toy with another (as she does here). Hopefully you can get past the fact that baby Jesus is getting beaten by a huge cat and just enjoy the laughter. hah!

By the time I took this video, Andy had already laughed himself into having the hiccups. He also wasn't laughing quite as hard once he saw the camera...I really need to get some sort of hidden camera to use on that boy so he won't always clam up!

NO!

Andy seems to know how to say, "no!" - and he does so very emphatically!  He's been doing this at least a week now, but would never do it when I tried to record him before.  He still usually sees the camera and clams up!

Andy's Oatmeal Fingers

Andy's been eating oatmeal cereal for a week or two now, and he's getting better at it. He was starting to get better, then last week got an ear infection and it seemingly hurt him to swallow, so he didn't eat very well (and not very much at all) for a few days - not that he was eating that much anyway, but would only take a couple bites before he started screaming in pain. Anyway, since he started his medicine a week ago, he's feeling better and eating better again. Here's a video of him having lunch today. He currently has his 4 bottles and now one "meal" (about a tablespoon of oatmeal cereal with a little bit of his formula mixed in) around noon. He's gotten very enthusiastic about eating the past few days!

Yay, Mama!

I know, I know - you're not supposed to compare your kids because they're all different...okay. Having said that, so far Kaylee and Andy are not that much different, milestone-wise (not that there have been too many to compare yet, with Andy being not quite 6 months old at this point). They both started rolling stomach to back at/just before 3 months (Kaylee started rolling back to front right around 6 months, so we'll see if Andy makes it - he gets very close, but doesn't like being on his stomach...). 10 days shy of being 6 months old, Kaylee started "talking" more by saying dada, and 2 days later followed that up with mama. And last night, 11 days shy of being 6 months old, Andy started "talking" more, but he got it right by saying mama. ;) Maybe in another couple days, he'll add dada to the mix. Even Kaylee kept saying, "he just said, 'mama!'" At one point after some weird babble, she said, "now he said, 'Kaylee!' That's just how he says it, funny like that." I guess she didn't want to be left out, either.

Loud baby!

Just in the past week, Andy has certainly found his voice! Up until then he would coo or gurgle pretty quietly. Now he has two volumes: off or LOUD!! He also still does not like the camera and usually clams up when he sees it. When I got it the other day and took this video, he seemed to actually get mad about it, instead of just getting quiet and staring at it. I think it's about 3 minutes long, not much except him yelling and sticking out his tongue. :)

Biker Chick

Happy Independence Day, Americans! Today we enjoyed a mostly lazy day at home. I took Kaylee out to ride her bike some. It was hot out today (July in GA...of course it was!), but we were out about 30 minutes. She is getting really good at it! She still needs a push sometimes to get started going uphill, but has come a long way in a short time, especially considering we haven't taken her out much because it's been so hot!!

At the end she says, "just like our American flag, I see an American flag," because our neighbors had their flag out for the holiday weekend. "Our" American flag is the little one she got at church on Sunday morning. Maybe we need to get a real one sometime. :)

Lightning Bug

Last night Jamie caught a lightning bug and Kaylee wanted to hold it. For some reason it stayed in her hand and let her hold it for quite a while, even enough time for me to run upstairs, get the camera, get back and take this video! So here's Kaylee petting a lightning bug. :)

In case she's hard to understand on the video, after it flew away, she said, "he's not my new little pet. He keeps flying away."

Baby Giggles

Here's a video from May 16 of 3 month old Andy giggling. He's been laughing for a while, but pretty much won't do it if I try to get a video. I managed to get this on my phone and when I converted it to a file I could post here, it made the video look choppier, but you get the idea...

Pop Rocks!

This is from mid-January. (I'm way behind on videos...) This was Kaylee trying Pop Rocks for the first time!

A few smiles

Here are a few of Andy's little smiles (and sneezes!) I got on video - he tends to stop smiling as soon as I get out the camera...7.5 weeks old here:

Kaylee & Andy

Kaylee tells me what she gets to do "when I'm 20..." and a little smile from Andy.
Taken 4/2/11 - Kaylee, 3 years old and Andy, 6.5 weeks.

In case you can't understand Kaylee's and my conversation:
Kaylee: Mommy, when I'm 20, I get to leave by myself.
Me: You do?
K: Yeah, and you guys get to stay here without me.
Me: When you're 20?
K: Yeah.
Me: Okay.
K: But are you guys gonna miss me?
Me: We will. But just when you're 20?
K: Uh-huh.
Me: What about when you're 19?
K: (shakes her head no)
Me: Just when you're 20?
K: Uh-huh.
Me: Okay.

Interpretive Dancing?

Oops...way behind on posting any videos; not for lack of them! Quite possibly the opposite - so many to go through I just haven't taken the time to go through any.

Kaylee seems to enjoy interpretive dancing - she usually dances crazy/fast to faster music and slower to slow music. Here she is the weekend before Thanksgiving at a Christmas event...my favorite move is when she grabs the chair and throws her hands up and head back, but it's all pretty funny (to me, at least).
